Of course, another benefit of living in Thayer County is the amount of land that’s available for building. There is room to grow and spread out here. Many families find that they prefer to build their dream home in one of our charming communities or near beautiful Nebraska farms.
New Housing Construction Proposals are now OPEN!!
TCEDA is being awarded the Nebraska Affordable Housing Trust Fund grant matched with an investment from the Thayer County Commissioners to establish a New Construction Project. This project will build three new single-family homes within Thayer County: Davenport, Bruning, and Deshler with a fourth house in Deshler to come at a later date. The two grant houses will be sold to income-qualified buyers who are at or below 120% of the area median income and an "affordibility stipend" will be available to the buyers.
Construction has begun, and we are excited to start working with potential buyers for these homes! Please contact us if you are interested! Below you can find house plans for the first three houses in Deshler, Bruning, and Davenport.
TCEDA is using a competitive Request for Proposal (RFP) process to identify one or more builders ("Partner Builders") for the construction of the new homes in 2023-2025. These properties are vacant lots. Construction is to begin in the near future with completion of at least the two grant houses around July 30th, 2025. Interested builders may submit proposals for the construction of the homes using the provided plan and requirements below:
