Dear Residents of Thayer County,

As we close out 2023, Thayer County Economic Development Alliance (TCEDA) would like to thank you for shopping locally, donating, and supporting our efforts throughout the year. Because of you, local businesses continue to flourish into the new year. Because of you, our neighbors remain employed. Because of you, our county continues to thrive. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!

Shop Local All Year-round

Local businesses are the backbone of economic growth, stability, and residential expansion. Each dollar spent is multiplied and repurposed by businesses within our communities and county in the following ways:

• Supports nonprofits and clubs
• Pays for ads in school calendars
• Helps and sponsors fundraisers
• Employs residents
• Gives local teens their first experience of employment

So when we say, “Every dollar counts,” we mean it.

As we enjoy the holiday season, we must remember it is also the biggest shopping season. With a prosperous holiday shopping season, businesses have the opportunity to bounce back or spring forth at the end of the year. Shopping local is a big part of why small business IS big business. The benefits outweigh any free shipping you may get from online purchases. :-) And remember, simply buying the little things locally makes big impacts all year-round.

Thayer County Love

Thayer County is a supportive community. As you decide what to buy the special people in your life, take a trip across our county to shop at many of our local businesses and purchase something unique. It adds to the meaning of the gift and increases its impact.

If your holiday shopping is complete, there’s still time to visit local businesses to say hello or have lunch with your favorite employee. A friendly face always brightens a busy workday. Remember to thank our local business owners as they continue providing our county with much more than what we purchase.

End 2023 on a High Note

TCEDA also thanks every donor who participated in Big Give Thayer County 2023. As donations continue to trickle in, we’ve ultimately received over $130,000.00! We couldn’t have done any of this without your big heart contributing to the Big Give.
