Rural America gets a bad rap. Often thought to have limited job opportunities, lack of education, lack of diversity, lack of progress, and backward thinking, rural communities have come a long way in being diverse, dynamic places boasting rich history, culture, and progressiveness. Many rural communities offer a unique perspective on living the good life.

Thayer County, Nebraska, situated in the center of the United States, offers a strong sense of community, a lower cost of living, and a slower pace of life than big city living while maintaining upbeat strides. You really can stop to smell the roses and bask in such moments here.
